Legendary rapper Eminem turned out to be the new victim of a death hoax and the rumours of his false demise have engulfed social media, prompting scepticism and outrage among fans worldwide.

The confusion sparked after Google searches of the artist displayed a deceiving death date, alleging that he passed away on December 10, 2023, in Madison, Wisconsin. ALSO READ | Spider-Man Tom Holland Shaves Off All His Hair; His Uncanny Resemblance To Eminem Has Totally Taken Over The Internet

A social media account, Pop Base, highlighted that Eminem's Wikipedia page listed his false death date and it ultimately set off an uproar among fans. The Google searches further fueled the confusion, displaying detailed information and leading fans to believe the rapper had passed away.

Enraged by the misinformation, netizens took to social media to express their frustration and disbelief. In no time, X (formerly Twitter), was flooded with strong reactions condemning the person responsible for editing the Wikipedia page and causing the distressing frenzy.

While many users vented their outrage, condemning the unsettling act, another expressed shock at the false information being circulated on Google.

One of the users wrote, “Google saying #Eminem died… what kind of f**kery is this? #Google #RIPEminem” A second user posted, “Whoever edited Eminem‘s wiki to say he died, buzz you. I nearly had a heart attack.” Another mentioned, “What is this Eminem died stuff on Google? There’s no way it’s real..”

This wasn’t the first time Eminem was subject to false death reports. In 2006, a conspiracy theory around The Real Slim Shady rapper suggested that the current Eminem is a clone, igniting sporadic false death rumours over the years.

Earlier this year, a similar false report surfaced in August once again causing "RIP Eminem" to trend on social media. ALSO READ | Eminem's Daughter Hailie Jade Models A Sleek Silver Dress Three-Ways, Also Shares Her Favourite Look From It
